Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Selftape.ai handles account data, scripts, self-tapes, AI scene-partner activity, Actor Brain materials, and privacy rights.

Last updated: May 27, 2026

1. Information we collect

We collect account information, contact details, uploaded scripts and audition sides, self-tape video/audio, scene-partner voice settings, performance notes, payment/subscription status, device/browser data, and product usage events when needed to run Selftape.ai.

Some uploads may include sensitive acting materials: likeness, voice, performance, confidential sides, reader audio, coach notes, or personal details contained in scripts. Please upload only what you have the right to use for private audition preparation.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide the product: teleprompter, recording, AI scene partners, text-to-speech, take review, Actor Brain, Film Studio planning, account access, billing, support, security, abuse prevention, and service improvement.

AI outputs are assistive and user-reviewed. We do not use Selftape.ai to make casting decisions, guarantee employment, provide legal advice, or replace your coach, agent, union, or attorney.

3. Sale, sharing, and actor-data promise

We do not sell your self-tapes, scripts, Actor Brain, voice, likeness, or performance archive. We do not provide those materials to studios, casting offices, advertisers, or data brokers to create an unauthorized digital replica of you.

California law defines “sale” and “sharing” broadly. Our position is simple: actor materials should be used to serve the actor who provided them, not to help third parties harvest actors.

4. Service providers and AI processors

We may use trusted service providers for hosting, storage, authentication, payments, analytics, transcription, text-to-speech, AI analysis, email, security, and customer support. These providers process information so Selftape.ai can operate; they are not granted ownership of your actor materials.

Provider terms and retention settings may apply to specific features. Where practical, we choose privacy-supportive settings and limit provider access to the information needed for the requested feature.

5. Legal bases and international privacy rights

For users in privacy-regulated regions, our legal bases may include providing the service you requested, user consent, legitimate interests such as security and product operation, legal compliance, and billing/account administration.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights requests can be sent to legal@selftape.ai.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect actor materials. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so users should avoid uploading unnecessary sensitive information.

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the product, account records, security, legal obligations, backups, billing, dispute resolution, and abuse prevention. Deletion may not instantly remove data from backups or legally required records.

7. User control and deletion

You can request deletion, access, correction, or export of your personal information by contacting legal@selftape.ai. Some in-product local-first data may live only in your browser and can be cleared from your device by you.

If you ask us to delete account data, we may retain limited records where required for tax, billing, fraud prevention, security, legal claims, or compliance.

8. Children and minors

Selftape.ai is not intended for children under 13. Minors should use the service only with parent/guardian involvement and any required permissions for acting, audition, union, school, or production obligations.

9. Contact

Privacy, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, deletion, and actor-data questions can be sent to legal@selftape.ai.
