Terms of Service

Selftape.ai is software for audition preparation, recording, rehearsal, AI scene-partner support, take review, Actor Brain, and related creative planning tools. It is not a talent agency, casting office, employer, law firm, union, medical provider, or guaranteed booking service.

By accessing or using the service, you agree to these Terms and the related Privacy Policy and Legal & Actor Data Policy.

You keep ownership of the scripts, self-tapes, recordings, notes, likeness, voice, performance materials, and other content you upload or create through your account, subject to any third-party rights in audition sides, scripts, music, reader performances, or production materials.

You grant Self Tape, LLC a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, analyze, transcribe, transform, and store your content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service and features you request.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, consents, and clearances needed to upload or process any content, including confidential sides, copyrighted scripts, reader audio, third-party likenesses, voice samples, music, images, and production materials.

Do not upload or share material in violation of NDAs, casting instructions, union rules, studio policies, copyright law, privacy law, publicity rights, or another person’s rights. Private prep is the goal; leaking protected material is not.

AI scene partners, text-to-speech, voice tools, Actor Brain, coaching notes, and Film Studio plans are assistive outputs. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, subjective, or inappropriate for a specific audition, role, jurisdiction, or contract.

You are responsible for reviewing AI outputs before relying on them. Selftape.ai does not guarantee bookings, casting approval, legal compliance, union compliance, audience growth, sales, press coverage, distribution, festival acceptance, or professional outcomes.

You may not use Selftape.ai to break the law, infringe rights, harass or exploit others, impersonate people, create unauthorized digital replicas, scrape or exfiltrate data, bypass security, upload malware, reverse engineer protected systems, or publish confidential audition materials without permission.

You may not use the service to create deceptive synthetic media, unauthorized voice or likeness clones, or content that violates another person’s privacy, publicity, union, contractual, or intellectual-property rights.

Paid features may require an active subscription or payment through our billing provider. Prices, access levels, trials, and feature availability may change. Some features may be beta, experimental, rate-limited, waitlisted, or unavailable while we improve the platform.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we process it, service providers we use, privacy rights, CCPA/CPRA and GDPR request paths, and our no-sale actor-data position. You agree that Selftape.ai may process your content and account data as described there.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.

Selftape.ai does not provide legal advice. Business/legal copy on the site is for general product-policy communication and should be reviewed by counsel for your specific situation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Self Tape, LLC and its owners, employees, contractors, providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to Selftape.ai for the service during the three months before the claim, or $100 if no paid subscription applies, except where the law does not allow that limitation.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Self Tape, LLC harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights or applicable law.
